East Coast Environmental Law Publishes Report on Seaweed Harvesting Regulation

April 16, 2019

The seaweed industry has been growing steadily across North America, and many of us at East Coast Environmental Law Association were eager to uncover and share how this industry growth has led to the creation of various statutes and regulations regarding seaweed harvesting.

The release of our most recent student paper, The Regulation of Seaweed Harvesting in Multiple Jurisdictions, researched by Peter Rak, JD student at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, explores the Atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, Canada's federal regulations, as well as seaweed regulation in other jurisdictions such as Maine, Ireland, and Norway.
