The seaweed harvesting industry has been growing steadily across North America, and East Coast Environmental Law was keen to study how that growth has led to the creation of statutes and regulations to govern seaweed harvesting.

Our most recent student paper, The Regulation of Seaweed Harvesting in Multiple Jurisdictions, written by Peter Rak, JD student at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, explores seaweed harvesting regulations in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, along with Canada's federal regulations and regulations in other jurisdictions such as Maine, Ireland, and Norway.
