R v Chiasson, 2018 CanLII 79786 (NBCA)

This motion to appeal the decision in R. v. Eymard Chiasson, 2012 NBPC 14, was heard in the New Brunswick Court of Appeal

The Appellant, Mr. Chiasson, was found guilty of being unlawfully in possession of a deer carcass, contrary to New Brunswick's Fish and Wildlife Act.

In this motion, Mr. Chiasson sought leave to make a direct appeal to the New Brunswick Court of Appeal rather than having the Court of Queen's Bench hear the appeal.

Ultimately, the Court held that Mr. Chiasson's legal matter did not meet the requirements for bypassing an appeal in Court of Queen’s Bench.
