Gary Schneider
Gary Schneider is a founding member and Co-chair of the Environmental Coalition of Prince Edward Island and started the Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project in 1991. For over 35 years, Gary’s goal has been to restore the Island’s endangered Wabanaki/Acadian forest.
Nationally, he has been past Co-chair andcurrent board member of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Caucus of the Canadian Environmental Network, serving on several Ministerial Advisory Committees on environmental assessment and legislation. On the local level, he has been a member of the Round Table on Resource Land Use and Stewardship, as well as the recent Forestry Commission. For his efforts, Gary has received the Order of PEI and an honorary doctorate from UPEI, among numerous other honours. He lives in Stratford, PEI.
